You will be required to log in to your Windows PC with your Microsoft Account. This is a must as some services like this one depend on the Microsoft Account. Once this condition is met, open Windows Store by clicking on its Tile on your Start Screen. Next open the Charms Bar and click on Settings. Now click on App updates.
Here you will see the setting: Automatically update my apps.
It will be enabled by default. If you wish to turn off or disable automatic updates to your Windows apps, select No.
If you do not use a Microsoft Account but a Local account on your PC, you can disable automatic updating feature via Group Policy – if your version of Windows 8 has it.
To do so, open Run, type gpedit.msc and hit Enter.
Next navigate to the following:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Store
In the right pane, double-click on Turn off Automatic Download of updates on Win8 machines to configure its settings.
Select Enabled. Click Apply and Exit.

Using Group Policy EditorTo disable access to or turn off the Windows Store, type gpedit.msc in Run box and hit Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor. Navigate to the following setting:
Computer Configuration > Administartive Templates > Windows Components > Store
Here, in the right pane, you will see the setting Turn off the Store application.
Double-click on it to open the Settings box, select Enabled and clicked Apply.
This setting denies or allows access to the Store application. If you enable this setting, access to the Store application is denied. Access to the Store is required for installing app updates. If you disable or don’t configure this setting, access to the Store application is allowed.Exit Group Policy Editor.
Using Registry Editor
If your version of Windows 8 does not have the Group Policy Editor, Run regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor. Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStoreCreate a new DWORD value in the WindowsStore key. Name it RemoveWindowsStore and give it a value of 1. If theWindowsStore key does no exist, create it, first.
Restart your Windows 8.1 computer.
You will have disabled the Windows Store application, and if anyone tried to open it, they will receive the following message:
